Culture & Belonging Training Specialist (DEI)

Position Summary:

The Culture and Belonging Training Specialist will be responsible for building, implementing, and leading organization-wide DEI professional development initiatives. This position will focus on designing and delivering trainings that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our workforce. By driving these efforts, the this role will ensure Equity Framework and principles are integrated into our culture and development processes, fostering an inclusive and equitable environment for all employees.

Work environment consists of a typical office or home environment. Time spent on the computer is approximately 60%. Ability to be multi-site and travel within the metro and occasionally within the U.S. Occasional longer work days (10-12 hour days). Compensation and Benefits: This is a full-time position and is eligible for health, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k) with match (see benefits document on website career page for additional insight). The compensation range for this position is $55,000-$65,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Training Program Development: Design and develop DEI training programs, workshops, and resources tailored to the needs of our organization.
  • Facilitation: Lead and facilitate DEI training sessions for employees at all levels, ensuring an engaging and impactful learning experience. 
  • Content Creation: Create educational content such as presentations, videos, and guides to support DEI initiatives and training efforts. 
  • Needs Assessment: Conduct needs assessments and analyze feedback to identify gaps and opportunities for DEI training and development.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with HR, leadership, and other stakeholders to integrate DEI principles into talent development, performance management, and leadership programs. 
  • Measurement and Evaluation: Develop and implement metrics to assess the effectiveness of DEI training initiatives and track progress over time.
  • Consultation: Provide guidance and consultation to departments and teams on DEI-related issues, best practices, and strategies for creating an inclusive work environment.
  • Stay Updated: Stay informed about current DEI trends, research, and best practices to continuously improve training programs and initiatives. 
  • All other duties as assigned 

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of full-time work experience 
  • 2 years full time experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion or related fields. 
  • Bilingual or Bi-dialectic (example: Spanish, African American English Vernacular, Creolized/Pidgin Language) 
  • Must include experience in designing and delivering DEI training programs and initiatives in an organizational setting (Virtual, In-person & Hybrid) 
  • In-depth understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts  
  • Public Speaking 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization and cross-culturally. 
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences. 
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to measure and evaluate the impact of DEI training efforts. 
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, and strong skill in Excel & PowerPoint (Experience with various training platforms: Zoom, Teams, Webex, Canvas) 
  • Navigating difficult conversations in real-time/In the moment (Calling-In Behavior) 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems 
  • Comfortability with Survey Tools 
  • IDI Qualified Administrator 
  • Knowledge of data analysis and reporting related to DEI metrics. 
  • Relevant certifications in DEI, adult learning, or related fields are a plus. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, HR, Organizational Development, Social Sciences or related field.
